The DFS-A0245 proves effective for on-the-move and on-the-halt DF Antennas
Mobile and manpack DF antennas have a highly respected place in our DF portfolio. Used in military applications, these antennas are versatile in how they are deployed.
The DFS-A0245 is a wideband DF antenna intended for on-the-move and on-the- halt direction finding from 1 MHz – 6000 MHz.
The antenna array is implemented as a four-band vertical stack with the low frequency band integrated into a lightweight quadpod incorporating patented hybrid loop-Adcock technology to provide improved sensitivity when compared with traditional designs of the same form factor.
The V/UHF module can be used on-the-move covering 20 MHz to 6000 MHz. When on-the-halt the V/UHF module can be combined with the easily deployable HF quadpod to cover the entire 1 MHz to 6000 MHz band.
The DFS-A0245 presents patterns suitable for the Watson Watt estimation method, as well as 3/2-channel correlative DF. Mounting of the V/UHF module is directly via the base-mounted MIL-DTL-38999 connector interface onto the quadpod, housing the HF band, thus providing a single connector interface to the entire array.
The antenna houses an integrated band switch with external and internal RF chain calibration functionality. The antenna further also houses an integrated compass and GPS providing additional intelligence to the direction finding system.
